Before listening to it in full; I had Holy Fire as one of the possible Albums of the Year, taking into consideration how much I liked the singles Inhaler and My Number and how much the band progressed from their debut to Total Life Forever.
The long short of it; whilst a very good third album ; Holy Fire's longer tracks let it down with the age old problem of pandering, boredom and ultimately; lack the punch that the previous album had. Whilst tracks like Providence, Prelude, Out of the Woods and Everytime are great pieces that captures the band's energy and frantic song-structures; longer tracks excluding Inhaler and Moon are far too slow and lack energy (which is made stranger as the previous album's longer tracks were unquestionably the best parts).
A solid third album; but with a tad too much pandering to top Total Life Forever.
